Favorite Pins Friday!

Hey y'all!

I just wanted to jump in on the fun with Cara at The First Grade Parade and share some of my pins from this week for

First off, this one goes with my post on Wednesday about all of the composition notebooks that we use for every kind of journal you can think of!  This is such a simple way for kids to find them quick.

cover
I think I will go with some fun duct tape (mustaches, etc) over the colors...but that may make it confusing?  What do you think?  Fun duct tape or plain colors?

I like the idea of using dollar store facial cleansers for individual dry erase board erasers.  I can't find the original post for this one!!   :O(

I really like this idea!  The blue post its are character traits and the pink is text evidence that supports the students' thinking for that trait!  I love it!

I think this might work nicely in the classroom, don't you?  What a discussion starter...and great reminder!

And, on a personal note, I'm working on setting up my daughter's 9th birthday.  It's going to be a "spa" party.  Here are two of my favorite pins:

Again, I couldn't find the source, but the description said that it's colored marshmallows with tootsie rolls!  Aren't they cute?  They look just like nail polish bottles!!

Gifts for girls. I was trying to think of a cute saying for spa/relaxation day during teacher appreciation week. "Thanks for "nailing" this year with such awesome lessons!" Someone probably can come up with a cute note for this. :)
Maybe something like this for a party favor?  I can't find the direct link to this blog because it's invitation only but it looks like it's from Life in the Thrifty Lane.

So, here are my favorite pins from the week!  Be sure to click the button at the top of the page to find more great pins!  And if you want to follow us on Pinterest, you can go to the top of our sidebar (on the right) and click the P buttons for both of us!

Have a great weekend!
Amanda

  2. Hey there! I found you ladies on the link up with Cara and can see that Megan also designed your lovely blog! It looks phenomenal! I used color coded tape on notebooks this year with my students and it made life SO much easier! I also had them color a rectangle on each side of the white pages with a marker in the coordinating color of the tape, just in case their desks weren't neatly organized enough to see the taped notebook spine. Looking forward to following you here!

  3. Great pins. I'll have to remember the face pad erasers. I use socks and the kids always say yuck and hold their noses when I get them out. I would love to avoid that reaction in the future.
Hope you had a great Fourth.

  4. I saw that pin on the party favor also! We went with a little spa package(file, toe spreader, wooden stick in a cute clear package) from the $1 area at Target. We added a fun nail polish and put it in a cute cup(also from Target) with some sweet treats! Love the treat!
The facial cloths are great for the whiteboards...I wonder how they would be for computer screens?

  5. The marshmallow nail polish is cute1 I thought it was real until I continued to read. your daughter will love it! I like the idea for the journals. I am going to using only tables, so the colors would definitely help the kids. I might do that to all of their notebooks, etc... I agree that the patterned duct tape may be harder to distinguish unless you have ones with very contrasting colors.

  10. I vote for fun duct tape! I am definitely doing that this year. I can't tell you how many times this past year I had to tell a kiddo "wrong notebook"..even with the subject label on the front! Thanks for sharing :)

  11. Definitely fun duct tape- I'm sure you'll come up with a way to make it not confusing! Love all these pins-- can't wait to see how those nail polish marshmellos turn out!

  12. I had my kiddos color the white pages across the bottom all different colors because they didn't fit sideways in their desk with the other "stuff" we had to keep in there. The duct tape idea is a cute one though if your notebooks go sideways!

  13. I love the duct tape idea. We're looking for different colored comp books by subject to help keep kids organized, but this may be just as easy! I vote for solid :)

  14. I say plain colors on the journals. Love the idea for dry-erase board erasers. I use cut squares of felt, but those would be even better.

  16. I used the colored dots on the spines of their comp notebooks & mod podged over them, yeah they didn't last very long. I eventually went around & with duct tape. But we still referred to our notebooks as "blue dot journals" or "yellow dot journals" I do love the idea someone mentioned about having the kids color the sides of the pages so if the notebooks aren't able to stand upright the kiddos can still ID the correct notebook :) Gonna steal that idea!

  18. I love the facial pad cleansers for cleaning white boards. I will have to keep an eye out for some of those. I love color coding my books so I would vote for plain colored duct tape but could definitely see the appeal of having cute designs - my daughter's friend just came over with her cute dill pickle duct tape for crafting!!We had a spa birthday for Gillian once - wish I would have seen that nail polish one - too cute. We had all the girls put on a hair net and cucumbers on their eyes and they laid down with their heads together and I took a picture from above. We quick printed them off on iron-on transfer paper, ironed them on to pillow cases and put all their birthday loot in their pillow case loot bag. Sorry for the ramble!!
