Today was our 100th day of school. We posted our plans for what we wanted to do on Sunday, so if you missed that post, click here and it will take you to all of the freebies and ideas we came up with.
Right now, we are going to show you how it all went down!! :O)
First up, math with 100 pattern blocks. They could work in pairs, trios, or quads to create anything they wanted, and then they filled out their graphic organizer.
This group of creative girls made a zoo, including a food court!! Here are a few more:
During the Language Arts block we did a "100 minute read in" and they used a graphic organizer while they read. (Again, if you missed that freebie, click here.) When they first saw the graphic organizer, they were like, "Whoa, this is going to be a lot of work!" but then they actually started working on it and they were having fun AND having great discussions! Mine worked with a partner from their guided reading group, since they had the same books. They were talking about what made a verb a vivid verb and is that really an adjective in that sentence, or is it an adverb? I was so happy!!!
Here they are, working diligently:
And, finally, we did our owl craftivity where they wrote about Whoo's 100 days smarter. My owls weren't finished, so these are Stacia's. They really thought about how they are smarter!! :O)
We had a great day! They were so excited to celebrate! Some of them said they hadn't celebrated the 100th day of school in years!! :O) Hopefully we made memories today (and they LEARNED along with it, without even knowing it!! I just LOVE that!)!!
We linked up with Learning with Mrs Leeby for her 100th Day Linky!!
